1991 GSP Perm #1247

Well I've finally struck a deal on my dream 91 GSP. It was bought at auction in 97 and used a daily driver for 10 years, then placed in storage until last year. Then owner then had engine/trans rebuilt and he has only driven it a tick over 1000 miles since then. Other than the rebuilt original drivetrain and added gears in rear end it is all original. Still has roll bar also. I am in touch with the wife of the Trooper that drove this car and she is trying to locate some in service pics for me. It still has the 88-90 drivers seat that was swapped in while in service lol. He has taken very good care of it since purchasing it at auction and it shows. I am very excited about purchasing this one as it will be a great addition to my collection and puts me to only needing one last year for completing it. I should have it in my possession in less than a month.

P.S. I have traded my 1988 GSP 8301 for a 89 and have another 88 lined up to replace 8301 and Then my collection will then be complete... I will have one of every year the GSP purchased Mustangs. 83 ; 88; 89; 90; 91 & 92.

Congrats Bobby! Looks amazing. Is the paint on this one savable or will you have to paint it?

Thanks john & Jon :-)
Unfortunately it would never be NICE. But it will be the last in line for a repaint :-) it has has paint work before just not a all over . Holes were filled etc. I believe under & hood trunk area will not need anything more than cleaning up :-)

Thanks Bill and Mike.
I could only wish they were all in this condition to begin with lol. I'll post up more pics soon. I should have it home with in a month... It was a bit of a stretch for me, but I had to make a move on it as he was about to turn it into a quarter miler... At least now he can buy and build one the way he wants to and not feel guilty :-)

Bobby I didn't see a Dunkin Doughnuts sign there for that many patroll cars. LoL But it is a nice site too see. On a side note I eat more doughnuts than any of the officers I know.

Holes in dash. Consistent with the States GSP. This is the only other one (besides the States) I have personally seen so far that appears to have had the dash light. I will be speaking with retired Trooper Dobson soon and find out exactly how she was equipped soon.

Ok can anyone figure out what's wrong with this interior? It was believed to have been done while in service. It is a one owner car bought at auction by a Mr. Wells. He swears this is just how he purchased it. There is two pieces incorrect for a 91. If upon retired Trooper Dobson inspecting it, it is confirmed to be in service changes, I will be forced to decide whether to leave it as auctioned or replace two items with 91 pieces...

Hint one is obviously 87-90
Other is 90 only
Chances are both would have Ben robbed from same car so probably from a 90 GSP at HQ...

chp1982 02-17-2014 12:50 PM

Driver seat and arm rest delete are incorrect. Come one, give us a tough one!

LOL,
I thought the delete would throw some off :-)

usajay38 02-17-2014 05:34 PM

The GSP I once owned had armrest delete and a bracket was made to go over it to give trooper an armrest. It was a 1991.

It was done in service or after then. All 91 GSP's were ordered through same DSO and all equipped the same. Plus I'm almost positive the armrest delete is a 90 only option. Jimmy Crump was notorious for swapping out used parts from the run outs rather than buying new parts.

Boddy here is a link to the car haluer. I think it would work great for all those GSP.
