I have been trying to contact that seller via his Craiglist since July 1st, as I suspected it was a SSP from MN (VIN was not in ad, but color was rare enough). He never responded. That is a rare one, as there were only 2 in that color (the other one is a cut up mess owned by member Doug in WI).

The seller definitely did not know what he had. A friend of mine here in MN bought it. I will be going with him to pick it up in the near future. The new owner will now be selling his medium regatta blue Minnesota State Patrol Mustang SSP, which is a little bit more of a project car. Let me know if any one is interested in that and I can put you in contact with him.

So he saw this one in person to know how much of a project car this one is? Since the seller definitely didn't provide very much info or pics to show condition....I noticed from one of the pics there was some rot down at the bottom of the drivers quarter behind the wheel well.

I just returned from picking up the newly discovered Smoke MSP SSP from Spooner, WI (240 miles round trip). It is nicer than what was pictured in the auction. The only rust is on the quarter panel behind the rear tire on the driver's side (it appears that water got in the trunk and rusted through from the inside). The trunk lid lip is mint and the floor pans are unbelievable. The only downside is the "ricer" headlights, tail lights, fiberglas hood, and rectangular exhaust tips. The buyer has a donor car to swap those parts with (90 LX convertible that we drove there in today), to get it back in shape. It even has the original hood ground straps in place (trunk straps too). The State of MN asset number sticker is still on the A pillar. The 2 mounts for the SHO-ME NO-SHO wig wag lights are still on the front bumper cover. I checked behind the glovebox and discovered the original STICO splitter in place and connected to the radio antenna cables. The one thing that is different on this MSP than the 2 that I have had is the trunk release button is mounted to the right of the steering wheel (the factory installed plug/cover is in the hole in the glovebox where the release button is mounted on the 2 that I had/have). The seller was 75 years old and has had the car for 3 years and he said the previous owner had passed away in 1996 (military) and the car had sat for 14 years until he bought it. It had no problem doing 70 mph for the 2 hour ride home. With 6 now accounted for (including the first and only black one which was totaled in service), that leaves only 14 more to be discovered!

Me too! I enjoyed watching it from behind driving down the road for 2 hours.

That sounds like a great experience. Did you get any pictures?

No I didn't. The new owner wants to get all the "euro-trash" stuff off the car before he posts any pictures.
