Tire Width Question
Over the years I've noticed that not all 225 60 15 tires are the same width ( some up to 1/2" difference ). I'm about to install a set of Goodyear Eagle GT HRs on my car and am wondering if they fill the rim nicely? Any pics?
Thanks Gary |
According to TireRack, they'll fit fine on a 15" rim with a width range of 6-8".
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...irePageLocQty= In terms of size, I recently installed 255/60R15 BFG Radial TA's on the back of my SSP. Love the look of the taller, wider tire. |
Goodyears always appear the widest. The tires on mine appear tiny in comparison to Goodyear or BFG's. I will go back to Goodyear upon the next replacement. But I have to admit, our V-rated choices are getting more and more limited. I just don't like the feel of the H rated tires. Rubber compound is too hard for me.

I just put a set of Eagle GT HRs on and they are narrower than what I had on. I may sell them and switch to BFG G Force Sports instead because they were a lot wider. Funny how the same tire size differs by manufacturer?

You'll be very happy with the looks and performance of the BFGs.
