was a little bored tonight..

so I practiced my computer skills at work and went to the Fla. Dhsmv site and ran some things on the green FHP.
Found that it was
first thing that came up was a legacy title transaction that showed a title issue date of 4-28-93. The odometer reading is 10 with a date read of 3-25-93. Here it has Prev. Title issue date of 04-14-93. Must be when it went into service.
But on this print out it shows that it has a transaction date of 05-01-2000 and it is listed under Title Details/Title Status as "Title Correction"
The next listing is on 05-01-2000 and shows transfer title to Watson Construction with sale price of 7600 bucks with an odometer reading of 72,166 miles.
Then a duplicate title record comes up on 10-24-03, which just means they lost the original title and requested a new copy.
Then it shows a transfer on the same date to the guy I bought it from with no odometer reading as it was exempt due to years.

Going back to the first section, I do not know what the Title Correction is. Could the VIN have been listed incorrectly at first and that is why it is not coming back to any records you guys have? It looks like it wasn't auctioned maybe until 2000.

Bret,

I missed this post, but I'll bet we were at the auction that your car sold at (remember.....it poured rain??).
