BTW, this is a "GL" trim level car so the rocker panel mouldings were Black from the factory.

Good to know both are missing!

They may have never been installed at the factory. Rocker mouldings were standard on all except the L trim level so if they were "deleted" per the special order I would think there would have been comments for such on the build sheet. I doubt there is a build sheet in that car now, if there ever was one, but you never know.

The moulding on each side was held on with clips and the clips were riveted to the rocker panel, so you should see small holes along the center horizontal plane of the rocker panel, unless either the car had them deleted at the factory or a prior owner took them off and filled the holes.

I did notice the rivet holes on drivers side. So it did come with them, I just didn't know if they were polished or black...

As it looked when I first seen it...

Rocker mouldings were black on the GL trim level and bright on the GLX trim level. I say this car is a GL because "D" code seats were only available in the GL. Cloth & vinyl low-back buckets in the GLX and GT were "F" code.

I believe they were bright on the L trim level.

GT had black rocker panels but it was paint instead of moulding.

Both of my '83s (GLs) have them as well. Black in both cases. Plenty of them in the in-service '83 CSP and TX DPS pictures.
