1990 North Carolina car for sale

http://raleigh.craigslist.org/ctd/1299789565.html

If anyone is interested.

I have 54 pictures of this car if anyone is interested. A little pricey at the moment for me. It is painted with single stage paint and might buff out nice. The jams are a little rough for me as are the quarter windows. Seller has some good docs, has the bucs, door tag with dso etc. It does not have the original cert/cal speedo. Car was painted blue when sold at auction, original black and silver car with both paint codes on buck tag. The crystal blue interior looks very nice. AOD car.

The seller is a very nice guy. I told him about this place also. Maybe he will keep the car and join up.

Hello,

The vehicle from the above post is returning to where it started out in Detroit as it now has a new owner...me! Well so much for it being the first time in 21 years that I haven't had a Mustang in the garage while waiting for my 93 Missouri State Highway Patrol SSP to return from being stripped/painted. I feel as though I have some sort of disease.

Car is in great shape but will need to have a few things done to it. Because of this I was able to purchase it for a bit less than what the owner had priced it at for sale on Craig's List. Thanks to Jim Young for sharing some of his insights on the car with me. The person who owned it for the past few of years is not a member on either SSP forum. He was a real nice gentleman and I enjoyed my time with him.

I used some of my frequent flyer miles and flew into Raleigh, North Carolina arriving at Noon yesterday. Spent an hour going over the car, driving it and confirming that I wanted to finish the deal. Exchanged money, completed the paper work and then drove the car 12 hours back home to Michigan. A couple of unbelievable "rush hour looking" bumper to bumper sessions on the highway in Virginia and Ohio cost me an hour or so, which put me home at 3am this morning.

I'm real happy with the car and one I look forward to enjoying. Road trips like this (even by yourself) can be alot of fun. The car has a good start and was taken care of. While it doesn't have a show car priced or quality paint job like I'm having done with my 93 MSHP it really is nice and something I can be happy with and be proud to take to car shows. What a great color combo North Carolina uses with black and silver!

My plans are to little by little address some of the detail items that could use attention and acquire the correct electronics/equipment the North Carolina State Highway Patrol would have used in the car while in service. For this I am really going to need help becoming educated on what North Carolina installed in these SSP's from those of you who have this knowledge. The interior presently is original (unbelieveably great shape for being original) but none of the police equipment has been obtained/installed. Car did come with a complete set of NCSHP decals mounted on magnetic backings and some very interesting documentation confirming its' status as a black and silver SSP.

Attached are a few photos from my drive back...one of them you can kind of make out in the distance Pilot Mountain from my drive through North Carolina.

Excellent Mike. I was wondering today how your trip went. I am glad the car was what you wanted. Hope to see you and the car at a show. The silve/black NCHP cars are very rare. :2thumbs:

Gentleman - Thanks for the feedback. Like Jim, I spent some time this evening cleaning my new SSP up. Whereas Jim had the leave on the back end to deal with, I had the bugs on the front end to deal with. I'm real happy with it...will get some more photos up when I can get some better light.
