KEY BANK TELLER FIRED

Its a great day in America when you are a good bank teller for KEY Bank and you get fired for not giving the robber the money, and getting the thug arrested. Then you get fired for it. KEY bank really made a bad move in my opinion. If I had a account with KEY bank It would be closed.

Right on

I worked with a guy at K-Mart in Panama City during College that would chase theives out the door. It was great to watch. I am sure the teller will get another job where he is appreciated... Maybe security or law enforcement.

Co. policies state that you don't put your life at risk for Co. asstes as they are insured.

The money is insured buy the fed I realize but where do the feds get the money to repay the bank? ALL of us taxpayers will pay for it. I think that it is time that this country should look at the Texas laws and take note.

What is in Texas laws that is different from others in this respect? Tellers can't chase a would be robber out of a bank here either without getting fired too.
There was a recent news story about a shoplifter a produce manager at a grocery store chased after caught and had charges filed against the shoplifter for stealing and he got fired for the same reason. Co. policies are there to protect the lives of the employees. At least ones that state DON"T restrain or chase theives out of the store/banks.

The right to legally bear a firearm. And use it if need be. This is America. I dont feel as though we need to allow this behavior any more in America. I personally feel this employee should have been given a metal of honor for his efforts. Not a pink slip.

I agree with you! 95% of all businesses have in their policies now that carrying a conceled handgun is prohibited and even on Co. Property (in your car). You will again get said pink slip. Sucks but everyone is afraid of that one person who would have a CHL that would use it on coworkers. Open carry would solve a lot of issues. anyone who had one would wear it in plain sight that way there would be less crime since everyone would be armed.

But this isn't the Wild West anymore either. To much liability on the Co. part so they just pink slip you for anything that they feel might blow back on them.

If it isnt my money and or merchandise, I wouldn't chase them. That isn't what they get paid for. The reality is if they get hurt, the store is the one getting sued.
