Need some help

I recently purchased a 1990 SSP car, but have no idea where to look for the parts or anything I need to restore this car. It has been modified a little, but nothing too drastic that can't be taken back to original.

I would like to start with info on the car, anybody wanna break down the VIN for me??

I have alot of paperwork history on the car, along with the original key and Keyfob from the Colorado State Police. I have paperwork that states what radio was in the car, what lightbar, but that's about it.

My plan right now is to get the car back up and running, as I bought it as a roller. It has been modified with a few drag racing piece's, and I will drive it the way it is until I have the piece's to complete the restoration, then I will put it back to stock

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Have you seen the in-service picture section yet?

I've done some research on the correct equipment for my '83 CSP, which I've gathered up over the last few years. I'll be happy to share that with you, and it'll be nice to see your documentation as well.

That's awesome, I've been looking all day for a pic, but I was on my phone at work.

My car still has both spotlights, the 160MPH speedo, and is still white in color. Radio delete is still there also. I just picked the car up, and really have not had a chance to really check it out yet.

If I can find someone with a scanner, I'll post up all the documentation I have. I have a copy of the original requistion forms, or fixed asset forms, original temp. reg, copy of the Cert. of Origin from Ford, and what looks to be the original Buyer's Order and Invoice.

I also have copy's of the reciept of sale to the original buyer after being discharged from service, along with copy's of title's of previous owner's.

Good deal....my '83 came with a bunch of documentation as well (some of which is posted up in the tech sections on this site). If you don't mind, once you get them scanned, I'll add yours to those as well at the next update.

I saw your wanted ad....glad to see the list. We'll be able to help you find that stuff in pretty short order (except for the correct shotgun rack).

Are there any interior pics??

Not sure where anything is mounted, and to be honest, I've never seen a SSP anywhere around here, not even at a show. The more I think about it, the more excited I get, will be the "cool" kid in town for awhile. My wife has a Vette she shows, would love to take this to a show, once it's ready.

Feel free to do what you want with the info, I'll do my best to get it posted up as soon as I can.

Sounds good.

No interior shots posted.....I do have a screen-capture somewhere that I did around 2005, from the Real Stories of the Highway Patrol series. It shows the Unitrol pretty nicely (not in a Mustang, though).

I talked at length with the Trooper who drove my '83 and know where most everything went in it..between him and the holes left over. Your car was set up a little differently, though.

The documentation is really what pushed me to restore it, without it, I'm not sure the value would be there. But the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.

The same thing happened for me with my 85 CHP. Once I found the unit number and was able to get some of the original documentation, the project took on a whole new direction.
