Franken-SSP on eBay

Looks like a FL car (probably a former city or county unit), but oh my. Vinyl seats and "factory" 4 wheel discs?? :No no:

It was problably modified, at some point and the current owner doesent know about it? That would be my guess.

Huh.......
Almost as bad as the CL listing on a SSP that stated all ssp's have salvaged
titles ...
It's still a clean little car .

Depends on your definition of "clean". ;)

It's got the wrong interior (vinyl), it's missing the certified speedo, and the engine compartment is a complete mess.

I can't read the door tag info to see the interior code. I only know of one aero SSP with original vinyl and that is Don Hawkins 90 car.

does the seller even know it is an SSP car? I see the 6 digit DSO number but he doesn't talk about it in his auction.

Interior code is FA.

Here is a link I found on ORG to a better picture of the VIN sticker -

The 6-digit DSO is interesting, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's an SSP - just a fleet order car, right? I'd be curious to hear how the seller documented that his 91 has factory rear disk brakes. The 93 Cobra was the first year for the 4-lug rear disk brakes (which my SSP has, albeit not 'factory-stalled'). Could this have been a test-mule from Ford?

Bill,

Correct...any special-ordered car (fleet, export, cars that were sent to Saleen, etc). It looks to me like the panel where the remote trunk release would have been has been replaced. I'd bet it's an SSP (Carfax would probably help ID it for sure).

IMHO, there's no way that those brakes were on the car from the factory, and the seller is just making claims that can't be backed up.

Looks like water or some stain on the carpet in the trunk too. The engine compartment looks awful to me

Looks like a few interior items were painted/dyed from BLUE... Look at the driver side when the door is open the edge of the driver side interior 1/4 panel BLUE! Also you can see blue in the gap between the parking brake handle and the center console. Also the driver side front corner of the center arm rest looks as tho a patch of dye/paint came off and it looks blue too.

That car looks like it has some rust in the A-pillar What are the little dime size black dots on the bottom door jam? Looks like a SSBC rear brake kit was installed on it. T-bird master and the adjustable proportioning valve on the passenger side. Lots of rusty things under the hood. I guess if you're close to sea water that can happen quick.
