1989 Alleged CT SSP on Craigslist
Not mine...on Craigslist...
http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/cto/1733426516.html 1989 Ford Mustang CT SSP - $2500 (Bridgeport) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2010-05-10, 11:44AM EDT Reply to: sale-k2zqf-1733426516@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 89 CT SSP CarFax shows it started its life in CT. It has some interior holes where police scanners and equipment may have been attached. The car is in need of a restoration and deseves one, considering its rarity. The car is originally out of detroit with its DSO# 0077 There is no hard proof that it is a CT police car but here are my thoughts. 1-either it was ordered through some type of federal program using the detroit (48) code. There was something called team 55MPH with federal grants to states to buy equipment including cars and radar 2- The car may have been a transit damage unit, sold at Ford Auction and then to a retail customer 3- A detroit region dealer bid and obtained a CT state bid for the car and won thus designating the ordering dealer as a detroit area dealer. Whatever this car may be, im sure someone out there can figure it out. The mileage is about 210,000 auto trans Location: Bridgeport it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 1733426516 |
What is the story on this car? It has surfaced at least 5 times in the last couple years.

Yes, this car has been listed numerous times in the past, condition has not changed. IIRC, there were better pics posted in the past and this poor Mustang has extensive exterior rust - not just surface, but actual rust through.
Maybe someone can get him to send pics of the actual BUC tags if they are still attached. It would cost quite a bit to restore this one if it's a genuine CT SSP - not that it can't be done, but as much rust as is showing on the body panels, it's anyone guess as to what the F&R frame rails, floor pans, torque boxes and trunk pan look like. |
