Photos of FHP Fender Decals Wanted

I am getting ready to install new STATE TROOPER decals on my FHP. I have a 6" spread between the E and T. (Similar to FHP1187) Would like to see a straight on shot with someone having a similar spread on one that was done off the original placement. I am wanting to see how/where the placement is. I have looked over the pics in the resto documents on both sites, but would like one a little more close up and not at an angle.

Thanks.

Here's a link to album with in-service pictures of the 1992 FHP SSP I used to own. A number of other photos in that album that might help as well. This one looks to be a bit diff't from the in-service pic posted above.

Is it possible they were installed differently depending on what Troop they ran out of?...different installers?

Thank you...and where is that car now? I had looked over those pictures before and did not know it was owned by a member at one time.

That is the only thing I wish about my FHP is that I knew what the true unit number was and what Troop it ran out of. In a way I wish I had listed it for sale sooner on ebay...with it still not selling of course. CarFax showed no history but ebay's Autocheck showed an inservice accident. Had I known when I first bought her, FHP might have still had the documents...now they are long gone.

Most definitely. They were set up in many different ways in different areas.

Member xxtrpr (John Malloy - recently sold a Kansas SSP) did much of the work on it (a couple owners prior to John were or are members on the forums although don't ever post). I was a couple of owners after from John and owned about 3 years. I sold it to an individual in Florida, who I encouraged to join here but haven't noticed him actually doing so. The fortunate thing with this one is it had tons of paperwork including the original title with the unit number written on it. It was in an accident while in-service and I got in for the pics (16) and crash report just ahead of the FHP cutting back on what they could provide. That's too bad about the difference between carfax and autocheck. I procrastinated a bit on sending my request into the FHP, but fortunately didn't do so for too long.

In the case of the North Carolina and Missouri SSP's I've noticed that in some cases a Trooper might request certain things diff't from another. My MSHP SSP did not have goose deck Roxter map light while some others same year and same interior/exterior color did have them. Have also noticed differences often between installers or the actual shop that did install. The NCSHP had different size emblems for instance and you can see it between different in-service pics. The MSHP 93 Mustangs you can see via in-service pictures where the fender emblems in some cases were way forward (such as my MSHP SSP). Other in-service pictures you can see where the fender emblems were at the back end of the front fenders.
