New to membership, reading for a long time!

I have been on a lot of SSP related sights for a while. But it was not until recently that I have been able buy a 1986 SSP FHP Mustang after wanting one for years. I have owned several Mustangs but this is the most wanted for me. Thanks to Bernie (FHP813) who lives up the road from me, who helped me drive my car down from Cape Coral yesterday.

I have been in the show circuit for over 15 years and have received several awards and trophies, all displayed in my garage. Now that I have no more wife in the middle of me and my cars, I will be restoring this 4 eye to original.

If anyone can offer any info on the car please feel free to do so. Most of you saw this one on eBay:

I need to get the original wheels, radio, interior, and other minor stuff that I now of. If you see anything else, tell me.

Welcome, I 'am glad you got that car. It's a twin of my 86, except your is in better shape than mine. The wheels are the hardest thing to find, along with the center caps. You don't need much in the interior department, which is the hardest thing that I've have been searching to get for mine. Good luck with the car and I look forward to see progress pics.

Welcome to the group, congrats on the purchase. You guys both have pretty rare cars. :)

I think that the hardest find will be those wheels and center caps. There are a few guys here that have multiple sets of wheels, and I'm sure you should be able to talk one of them out of a set for your car.

The caps...well, that's another story. I'm hoping to see someone reproduce them, since they are so hard to get ahold of.

We were not sure it was an FHP (including the owner) until we did some investigating and found the bucktags and some chips on the door that showed the cream color underneath and confirmed it's pedigree. Car is solid and runs excellent. A solid foundation for a nice resto. I am really glad it's going to get the treatment it deserves. Just sorry the '84 that was on Ebay didn't meet the same fate.

Glad to see there is a lot of FL support here as I will be looking to do a moderate if not full resto on mine in the near future.
