Up for bid is a 1992 Ford Mustang SSP. Former Florida Highway Patrol Unit #0862. The car looks to have the original paint on it. All the body panels are original except for the driver side fender and the front bumper cover. This car is by no means perfect but would definitely be a solid platform for a restoration. I am including plenty of pictures of the car, if you are interested in more pics just ask.

I bought this car with full intentions of doing a restoration but plans have changed. Since buying the car I installed a new fan clutch and a used fan. Replaced the rack and pinion, inner and outer tie rod ends. The car has a new power steering pump and water pump. New brake booster and Master cylinder installed. At the present time the only things mechanically that I can think the car needs is A/C recharged, it will need the brakes checked, rotors turned and the brake system bled. The drivetrain has the usual leaks at the rear main and the rear tranny seal which is typical of these cars. A previous owner has installed an aftermarket clutch which has a firm pedal and the car drives like it has had a gear change, my guess would be 4:10, never had the differential cover off to check. The car still has the smog pump and cats on it. The mufflers are Flowmasters dumped under the car. It will need rear shocks, new tires and 4 lug nuts, I had to remove locks from the wheels and never got replacements. I have a headliner and sun visors in grey that go with the car. The center armrest needs replaced as well as the top console plate that holds the ashtray.

I have only driven the car 30 miles since I have owned it, the engine idles smooth, has no knocks and does not smoke. Tranmission shifts smooth and has no grinding between gears. I'd love to keep the car but I no longer have the time to put into the project. I am located 20 miles from Interstate 75 the runs thru London, KY. I would not recommend driving the car until the brakes are checked.

The only thing about that car that would concern me is the rust.

Whats up with the front lights?

It also has been wrecked, and 190K miles, not 90K.

Definatelly a premium price for a rough car with high milage. Salvagable though for the right price.

I wondered about that too, but after I stared at it for a few minutes, it
looks like they may have replaced the original lights with smoked ones. Doug

That's what I was thinking too.
