1989 Ford Mustang, 108000 miles, 302, 5-speed. This Mustang was a previous Minnesota Highway Patrol car from 1989 to 1998. The engine was upgraded in 2004, it now has forged pistons, a Competition Cams Extreme Energy roller cam, Ford “N” Heads. It also has a cold air intake, High Energy Ignition, and a Phenolic spacer between the upper plenum and the manifold to prevent heat transfer. 2 years ago the transmission was completely rebuilt to the same specs as the 99 Cobra R close ratio trans. The car has a 2.70 or so rear end. In 3rd gear at 55 mph the tach reads about 2400 rpm.

Its no cherry there is some small areas of rust. The drivers seat is wore out, the dash and rest of the interior needs a good cleaning but looks to all be ok. It has an Alpine CD receiver in it.

The car was originally white then someone painted it blue at some point and now has a black home done paint job. Tires are in very good condition.

One of the great things about this being built for the Highway Patrol is that the Vin# comes back as a 4cyl car so the insurance is cheap.
What exactly does that last paragraph say? :headscratch:

I was a bit curious about the statements above myself. The MSP had a number of diff't paint colors, but I hadn't heard about white. Not to say they didn't have white, I just hadn't heard or obtained info on that color. I have about 1/3 of the VIN's identified so if someone is interested in this car send me the VIN and I'll check against what I have. Would want to see the buck tags and the DSO. Also the VIN# coming back as a 4 cyl is curious. Would be pretty neat, though, it is in fact another MSP SSP just need more info.

One more comment on this one...I understand all the MSP SSP's were automatics. This one indicates a 5 speed in the ad. Maybe changed out? Or just someone with bad info on his car. Again would need checking into this one further to validate what the seller states it to be.

It's either a 4 cyl that they're trying to pass off as an SSP or the seller has no clue what he's talking about. Either way worth investigating further.

Spoke to Matt , The current owner .
He said he would send more pics and the vin # to run a carfax ?? states the car is an original 5 speed car. I asked about the rust , sounds like a couple panels may have a good amount of cancer? waiting on pics.

He has never looked into it being a ex police car, He was told when he purchased it that it was???
Has never paid attention to the door sticker but thinks it's been painted over.
I will post any info he may send..

That's a 4 cylinder car, per the VIN (8th digit should be an E).
