Hi all,

I have a 1993 Mustang SSP out of Northern California. 5.0HO, 5 speed, 133k miles. Interior is exceptionally clean. No power anything except steering. Exterior is good. Has powder coated black ponies. Sale will include 10 hole (phone dial) alloys with center caps. Has a cold air intake (did not really make the car run much better IMHO). Sale will include stock air box. I have Owned the car since 2004 and it runs great! Have all documentation. $5500 (562) 704-2239. I am selling the car because it sits in my garage and needs to be enjoyed by somebody who appreciates what these cars are about.

Thanks

Very nice looking. Can you post some pics of the door tag showing the DSO? Any idea which agency it came from?

CNTLOSE,

Thanks for your interest. Prior to purchasing the car I ran a CARFAX report in April of 2004. CARFAX reported that the vehicle was manufactured and shipped to original dealer on 6/25/1993. Subsequently, title was issued 8/5/1993 and registered as a law enforcement vehicle according to DMV Sacramento, CA. On 4/2/1997 the vehicle passed emissions inspection at a California Inspection Station in Vacaville, CA. CARFAX reported that the mileage reading at the time was 45,563. Anyways, that is why I believe it originated out of NOCAL. CARFAX indicated that on 10/23/2001 a title issued new owner reported with vehicle mileage at or about 118k according to DMV Placerville, CA. My guess is this is when it went out of service and entered civilian hands.

Hope this helps. As I understand the black body moldings are incorrect for a 93 SSP. The car does not appear to have been a black and white. I am no expert but some 1993 CA CHP SSP's were all white with silver 10 hole alloys not black. I am sure you or somebody in the forum can weigh in on that! I bought the car in its current configuration and put wheels on it. Never raced it as I am not a very good driver, and the thing is the fastest motor driven vehicle I have ever been in. I would rap myself around a telephone pole. @ 44 I have learned my limitations of which there are many :)

Thanks again for looking.

According to the door tag, you have 2 paint codes that translate to vibrant white and black . So that tag belongs to a black and white.

Thanks for the clarification on paint

+1. Special paint car, within the same VIN range as other, documented '93 CHP SSP cars. BTW...the underhood shot also helps, since it's black.

Kevin, have you been able to get a look at the bucktags?

Also, if it's an ex-CHP unit, you may be able to still see a four-digit number applied to the driver's door above the cert label as shown below:

Number should show up even if it's painted over as it is applied with a paint pen and will be viewable in relief (unless it's been sanded off). You should also find red reflective tape, or evidence of some, on both doors.

Michael,

There is reflector tape as you described on the passanger door. I do not see numbers or reflector tape on the drivers door. I will take photos of this and the buck tags ASAP.

Thanks for looking,
Kevin
