Interceptor testing at LASO

They also tested the new Explorer against the Tahoe.

Testing

I attended the testing yesterday at the Fontana Race track. I was able to look at , sit in and evaluate all three cars. I brought five various size officers with me and some guys from our shop. After approximately three hours of climbing in and out evaluating the front seats, back seats suspension and a great deal of other specs the Dodge was hands down the better vehicle. Chevy should not have even brought their caprice. The Ford was just toooooo small. IMO

I think this is what we all here were saying from when we first saw the Taurus announcement a while back. That and not sure about a twin turbo engine in a patrol vehicle. That is too bad. I am a huge fan of Ford's current line up. Guess we will have to wait and see how things shake out. It almost feels to me like Ford didn't even really try.

Ford interceptor=FWD crap :(

Ford will regret this. The testing article above is nothing more than them tooting their own horn. Cops DON'T and WON'T like it.

there is an AWD option, I believe. But yes, FWD would make up the bulk of cars.

True. No one I have talked to wants this crap. GSA will probably buy a shit ton of them, but for driving back and forth to work and the occasional op, they'll be fine. For actual patrol work and jumping curbs (read: longevity), I think they'll be total POS's.

I'm glad I have a Crown Vic with 12k on it...it'll be mine for awhile.
