CHP #E408395 is Black & White Again!

The recent storm hit while my SSP was temporarily residing in the driveway. If you look in the garage, you'll see our son's '98 coupe, which is missing its rear suspension. A day-long project to swap out the 7.5" for an 8.8" with 3.90:1 gears is now going into its second week. First, we needed new spring isolators, which could not be found at the local automotive retail establishments, and Ford said it would take 6-10 days. So I bought poly isolators through American Muscle. Then we hit a common snag, where the rear bolts for the LCA's were rusted into place. After getting the first one to let go, I realized that the rubber bushings in the LCA's were cracked. So I did some research and bought a good aftermarket pair. But it turns out that these particular LCA's do not include the attachment bolts, and the correct grade 10.9 bolts are made out of a rare ingredient called 'unobtainium'. So I just bought the bolt kit directly from the maker of the LCA's. You would think that the replacement LCA's would include the hardware needed to install them!

This is no help to you now but the BBK "Gripper" lower and upper control arms come with the bolts.
