Bullet hole
 

I noticed this hole in the drivers door jamb just below the roof. It looked like it could be a bullet hole.

When I took the headliner out, I found the exit point above the headliner. You can see the mark on the roof where it ricocheted off the roof.

I sent an email to the PD to see if they could tell me something about it.

Can you say negligent discharge.

I looks like the door was open and the round was fired from an angle slightly lower than the roofline.

Fast way for Motorpool to make holes for running overhead light wires before putting car into service ?:D ?

Would be interesting to learn the story behind that one.

Ya. I put in a message to the PD. There is always a chance it happened after the PD sold it. But leaving the hole and having a cool in-service story to go with it would be pretty awesome.
