1988 NY For Sale On Ebay
The car pictured is not for sale. Instead he is selling 2 junkers and says the pictured car is an example only.
Are you sure the restored car is not included in the sale ? What could it be worth ?
The seller only used a picture of a restored car to show as an example. Here's the description from the seller's ebay ad -

He makes it sound as though the rusty second SSP should be used as a parts car for the first one. In terms of potential value, unless you are extremely talented and do most/all of the restoration work yourself, then it's nearly impossible to restore a SSP for less money than you could buy/sell a restored example for. But what's the fun in that? :D |
I guess one way to look at it is, remembering the stories we hear at car shows. For instance the guy who tells about blowing the motor in his Shelby back in 1974 and parking it outside behind the barn. A few years later he parts it out and junks what remains of the body. Now he wishes he restored what he had.
SSP Mustangs will never have the value that a Shelby holds, but they will be sought after forever more, and some of them just as rare ... I have VIN numbers for all twenty 1988 NYSP cars. I have confirmation of 5 having been totalled and junked. That leaves 15. |
