Just bought 1990 FHP

Hello,

I know I haven't been around... I just bought a '90 FHP... 197k almost unmolested.. besides cheap long tubes to offroad H pipes to stock muffler dumped style.. that will change.

engine and trans and axle are original. drives well but 2nd gear grinds.

bad headliner, bad weather stripping everywhere. good paint but not show quality.

original gray interior... has some rust on door hinges which worries me a bit.. would need your feedbacks on this. some rust behind the tail lights area.

has no rust anywhere except those areas.

here's the pics of the car.

Nice looking car MJ...plans for it?

Thanks, plan to bring it back to stock and fix the rust as you can see on hinges, hope it's not serious. keep it stock and enjoy it as its not molested much, only have subframe connectors welded on, only thing that's permanent. So its mostly original everywhere except both fenders as i can see no vin tags but very straight except bottom of the radiator support, i'll live with that.

it has buck tags, police alternator, oil cooler. 160 speedo. dash are shot, will replace it as the cluster is loose and realized dash is damaged where the cluster are supposed to mount on are beyond repairable. Will replace headliner and sunvisors, they are awful. will post more when i have it home after deep cleaning done.

Nice! I had rust in the same area on my 92 SSP we cut it out and replaced with new metal. My though is the sooner you stop the rust the less repair work to be done. Which in turn means less money spent fixing the problem. Just my thoughts.
