Unfortunately, I have to agree w/ Jim's statements above, specifically the bolded comment. You also posted about this car over on .org on 4/20/10 (prior to posting on here) fully knowing what you had in your posession, knowing exacly what you had purchased.

We can assume you know about Fox Mustangs. You knew the history of that vehicle and knew what you bought from the start, not an accidental find.

Don't take offense or take this to heart, it's not that folks on this site or the other don't want to see SSP's increase in value. However, what is frowned upon are folks who buy them fully knowing what they have, then come to these forums trying to flip for a profit after only owning the car for a few weeks or months "just because it's an SSP". We all know what an SSP is and just because someone has one for sale, does not mean everyone is going to immediately jump and pay top dollar. Also note, many of the SSP's out there are well known amongst the SSP/Mustang Community, so they are followed closely when they surface for sale on any online forums, craigslist, AutoTrader, Mustang Trader, Hemmings & eBay. Pretty much everyone is in the know as to what prior asking prices were and/or what fair selling prices are for SSP X, even more so when these same vehicles resurface at a later date.

Another thing to be aware of - some SSP's are more sought after than others, regardless of just rarity. What makes one SSP more sought after than another is dependant upon exterior/interior color combos, if marked units as opposed to unmarked, auto vs manual trans, if the vehicle is complete w/ proper equipment, buyer recognition or memories of that specific SSP, what State the SSP had served and in some instances if that vehicle comes with historical documentation... Rarity plays a part, however, if the combo is not highly sought after, it's surviving or DSO numerical rarity does not necessarily mean a sure fire sale, regardless of asking price.

Again, no bash intended. I wish you the best of luck, it's surely a well kept SSP - and if you truly did pay $10,200.00 for that unrestored SSP, hopefully you will be able to recover your money during these economic times.

No, it's more like accusing.
Sorry, but i am taking it to heart, you guys are treating me like i am trying to pull one over on you and thats not the fact. sorry let me rephrase that, NOT EVERYONE. I simply made a mistake in buying this car. what i mean by that is, yes i did know it was a retired police car, not denying that. but what i didn't know is how rare it was until after i purchased it and starting researching it. and that makes it more special as far as history goes. did i pay to much? am i crazy? maybe but to me a clean, original car is worth it. you have some people paying big $ for other cars, example being Chevelles, Camaros, etc. do you ever think that just maybe it might mean something to them. 'Cobra jet, i just love when people use the word assume. No bash intended, Right !
