That is a neat write up. Keep it coming!

My step son got a '98 Camaro BC4 when he was 12. The car is an ex-schp. I am with you on the power concern, but the price was just too good to pass up for his dream car. It was $2600. The car needed front body panels, a little wiring work and some tires.

Cannot overstate the value of doing a project such as these for those who have up and comers. It is a great way to get the kids away from the TV, learn a little practical knowledge and understand sweat equity.

It is also is a good vehicle, (pun intended) to maintain good grades and behavior. We are very strict with his car. If his GPA drops below a 3.0 it is gone. Drops below a 2.0 and he loses his driving privileges altogether.

He just turned 17 and plans to keep the car forever. He too has a list of upgrades he is planning. A t56 swap, suspension upgrades and a repaint.

It is fun seeing him show passion....

Best of all I live in an old farm house with the attendant buildings. Over 7000 sq ft of enclosed storage!
