There were several specialty vehicles utilized for WSP commercial vehicle enforcement throughout the 80"s and 90's, some of which were mustangs. All of these unmarked vehicles utilized for this purpose were operated by troopers. They were nicknamed "truck enforcement mustangs" no markings, different colors, and assigned to the districts, not to any specific trooper. So basically, the cars rotated throughout the district and APAs driven by whoever the Sgt assigned to them. Seeing these cars were not permanently assigned to personnel they got driven pretty hard and passed along to the next operator. Although truck enforcement was the focus of these unmarked vehicles, any aggressive driver caught their attention.
