Do you still have the same insurance carrier? They normally keep records of the cars you have had through them for several years, could call them and ask or look it up on their website if you have set up online account with them. May help out and get you the vin number to try and track the car down.
The DMV could be another place to check, if you have an online account they may still show the car listed under your personal info, I was surprised when I renewed tags on one of my cars and There was a car I had about 5 years ago was still showing in my records. Could be because the car went to another state.
