Ran across a 1987 WSP Mustang (Asset # 16-7-019) locally for sale. Called the seller up and swung by today to look. Car has been wrecked and hit a bridge abutment about a year ago - spun out on some ice. Seller would prefer to sell the car whole. If he does part it out, I have requested a few items (i.e. roll bar, SSP steering wheel, instrument cluster, etc.). Passing this along in case anyone is interested in the whole car. Not my car...just posting for anyone else interested.
Car is a verified WSP SSP. Photos of the car are at: http://public.fotki.com/djslickmix/87-wsp-ssp-16-7-019/ ![]() ![]() Asset # was 16-7-019 (Sticker is still on the door jamb). VIN ends in 255 (2 off of mine at 253). It's likely too far gone for anything but the drivetrain - but did have a rollbar in it. Not like any rollbar I have seen. Had the original holes for the Setina roll bar, but this one was different - with different mounting points. Wondering if it was replaced along the way if the car went to another agency after WSP? Had a ticket light as the main overhead light vs. a normal dome light. Trunk liner is missing and did not see the fast idle lock handle below the dash nor the wig-wag switch for the headlights. Buck tags are still there. Car surprisingly fired right up and sounded great. Owner wants $750-1000 for the whole car. I ran a CarFax, and it showed mileage at over 240K. Unknown if the block and tranny are original. Interior smells of and has some mildew in it. Trunk is also damp. Passenger seat and AC control knobs are missing along with driver kick panel cover. Interior is somewhat poor condition. All four 10 holes are shot/scraped up. Full size spare is gone. Front clip appears to be bent towards driver's side. Not sure if anyone local is interested in it, but if you are, I can connect you with the seller. Shame to see one go to a junk yard, but sometimes the amount of work to bring one back is not worth the effort. Although we have seen worse!
