Matchbox to add Mustang SSP to 2014 lineup!

"We are dropping the VW Bulli Concept for 2014 and will no longer pursue it. It is being replaced by a new licensed Model. It will be the 93 Ford Mustang LX SSP. SSP means Special Service Package. This is a police car based on the Mustang LX 5.0 ."

And further down the article is shows a pic of the ssp they're modeling it after. It's an 85-86 CHP! Pretty cool....I'll be buying a few myself!

I presume they won't, but it would be pretty comical if they issued a "93 SSP" Matchbox with the car in the package being a 4-eyed SSP like in the photo.

It would be nice if they did the 85/86, since Greenlight already did the 87-93.

I would've loved an 85-86 version. But considering they were calling it a 93....best to use an aero car for the model to match the year lol

I don't see anywhere in the article from the first post on this issue of any SSP or a picture of an SSP to model the matchbox from.

At the bottom is a F-ix I-t A-gain T-ony car.
A car that should never have been reintruduced to society lol

Not a mustang.

It's a blog, so it changes. Hit the "older posts" on the bottom right of the page and scroll down the page. The black 85/86 picture has now been replaced by the white 93 SSP, so you won't see the original picture everybody else saw.

When I click on the link, if I scroll down just a short bit is almost a forum like posting that includes a picture of an aero Nebraska SSP. This was the same one I noticed yesterday and in the posting the author mentions something about in his haste to announce, a 4-eyed picture was posted to represent the new SSP matchbox. The posting was at least in part trying to address what apparently quite a few pointed out about the photo not representing a 1993 year Mustang.
