I mailed the guy and this is what he wrote:
It runs but has been stripped out under the hood. no a/c or smog. It is one of 634 built i believe or 674,i have to find the article on it. the truck does have carpet but needs to be replaced and the interior is in fair shape for the age. needs carpet. Im hoping to find some one who will take care of it. I just dont have the time to tinker with it any more. It hasnt been tagged in 2 almost 3 years but i crank it every time i get home. i was gonna start a restore cause the guy who had it before me used it at the strip. Im hoping that as rare as it is someone will buy it and restore it. Not take and gut it out and eventually wrap it around a tree. His name is Richard Melvin, if any one wanted to get in touch with him.

If someone is serious about the car I could take a look at it maybe next weekend. Go see see my mom in Navarre. Which is right by Gulf Breeze. I think the car is a little overpriced considering the paint and interior and the fact that it hasn't been on the road in 2 or 3 years. But at least he cranks it. Seems like a $1500 car to me. Isn't '87 the only year that doesn't have a definite number used by FHP?

OH MAN !!
Bud (W4ata) was over to my house today to take a look at my new FHP car. Once I opened the trunk he told me there was a car in the forums a few years back that was painted the same "Blue" and they had painted the mouldings, trim and all. (Why would someone do that???) After a quick search here and seeing the carfax info and pictures, it turns out to be the same car I just brought home. All of the racing items have been removed in my garage and the car is on its way back to where it should be, an in service condition SSP that can shown in MCA Ocassional and eventually concours. THANKS BUD for the info and lead to my cars history!!!!!!!!!!!
