A buddy of mine is thinkin about sellin his 91 SSP. It was a NC car, Its dark red with black interior, Still has the holes in the dash and console. The DSO number is 22 0654.Also still has the buck tags, He can put the car back to stock, right now it has a 2.5 inch hood, 373 gear, and exhaust. The interior is super clean, the outside needs paint. I can get some pics up tomorrow. Some one backed in to the driver door, its not to bad. Im gonna drop it off tomorrow to get the door fixed at a dent removell place. Just tryin to see what it might be worth, I know its a bad time to try to sell one but i told him i would post it. Thanks

What leads you to think it's an NCSHP SSP? Post up some pics of it. As a general rule of thumb the NCSHP did not put holes in the upper dash if that's one of the areas you are referring to. Does it still have the NCSHP FAS or PIN stickers on the left side of the dash? Personally I stray away from the value discussion in the open on a forum like this as everyone has their own opinion of these things and at the end of the day it's all about what someone is willing to sell for and buy for.

the buck tags and dos numbers came back as the NC. it also has a number painted in the drive door jam? You can see where there was a sticker on the left side of the dash, the number painted in the jam is 2-12-320

I vote South Carolina as well. Up until 1993 the SCHP was a division of the Highway Dept. The designation 2-12-320 breaks out as 2 = Highway Dept, 12= Mustang 320 = 320th vehicle that year. The 319th and 321st could have been a snow plow or Chevy truck or another Mustang or whatever.
The sticker on the side of the dash was a air pressure warning decal. Is the paint code "W 2813" on the door sticker and BUC tag?

The paint code is EL which is Wild Strawberry. The lower buck tags is very hard to read. all i can make out it NC/police and before that is some numbers which i cant make out. I really dont want to have to pull them off but i think thats the only way to read them other them pullin off the front bumper.

All the various makes of vehicles had a designation and if I remember correctly, Fords were a 2, the 2 door bodystyle was a 12 and the 320 would have been the 320th 2 door sedan they purchased. I remember signing off on one I bought and took the time to flip back through the book and they had records for cars back into the 1950's, showing when they had been purchased and when they were sold. Everything changed when they broke apart the DHPT (Department of Highways and Public Transportation) about 1996. The sales eventually moved to Boston Ave. and the Highway Patrol cars just became part of the state fleet cars, and many of the old record keeping ways disappeared. Wouldn't it be nice to get your hands on some of those old books today. |

The PIN Number, which is not related to the VIN or FAS numbers, is four (4) digits and is believed to correspond to vehicle number on a particular contract (i.e. 0112 equals 112th vehicle on the 1990 order). It can be found adjacent to the inside of the driver's side door jamb on the left hand side of the plastic dash. It may be typed on a white or pink paper sticker with the North Carolina state seal, or written in marker or crayon. In one known instance it was found on a faded blue plastic label located in the driver side windshield border with the year followed by the PIN Number. The PIN number was the preferred way of tracking specific vehicles and their corresponding Trooper and license plate number.

There is a spot on the side of the dash where a sticker once was. The car has no map light there is a big round light there. I tryed to get all the numbers off the buck tags but you cant really see the bottom one. Does the DSO number in the door tell me anything?
