I’m selling my 1986 Idaho SSP Mustang I bought not long ago, regretfully. I’ve always loved the Idaho ’86 cars, and bought this one with intentions to restore. Unfortunately it’s more than I can handle right now with my DPS resto in full swing and the new CHP car that I’ve got. This car is a project, but is a very good start for a very small agency car. It’s one of 22 according to the numbers I have found, and checks out according to the DSO. I received the car, got the A/C working again (all of the AC components were gone and thrown away, I tracked a full system down and installed it). The driver’s seat was broken and badly worn/torn so I put a better looking unit out of an ’84 GT in it (wrong color).
The good: -The body is super solid, and very straight. No frame rail damage, no rust at all. -Both buck tags are present. -VC Label intact and in good shape. -Speedo still there, relocated trunk release, and single key locks. -Car runs like a top, AC blows ice cold. -T5 shifts butter smooth The bad: -Some damage to the rocker panel on passenger side, and the core support is bent on the bottom (probably happened in service). -The car apparently had a battery fire, or bad leak at some point and messed up the fender apron -Driver’s door needs the hinge rebuilt. -Needs tires, they vibrate above 65 mph The car needs a full restoration; Paint, interior, engine bay work, etc. But, it is a great start and is super solid. Idaho cars never seem to come up for sale, and this one is rust free and ready to go. I bought with intentions to restore, so I’m going to cut my losses and let this one go for much less than I have into it. Has a clear Texas title, and is currently registered/inspected. $3300 OBO. I guess I should post up a teaser, what she should look like when done (borrowed from the in-service pictures section of this site):

What type of radio and equipment is it supposed to have? I think I have decals for this one... Is it common for those Idaho cars to have a trunk lip mount antenna? Different looking car but I like the 86 four eyed cars.
