Hey guys looking, last year we purchased CHP #258 and brought back to Australia. we've been able to acquire many of the original police equipment and bits for restoration, however upholstery seems impossible to find. Do any members have insights on our problem??

Welcome to the '82 club! Since there are several of us with 82 CHP cars "in process", I have been wanting to see if it is worth several of us pooling our efforts. I don't see SMS giving out any deals, but if we could get a interior guy to sew them up, there might be a deal to be had there. Anyone know how much fabric and vinyl it takes to make a set of the seat covers?

3.5 yards of seat fabric with 2.5 yards of foam and 2 yards of muslin backing based on seat dimensions.
I have a guy that does reupholstering of cars locally in CLE. He did more modern headliners like on my Diplomat for about $200.00. I know that there is a company that makes the reupholstering kit for just about any car of any vintage including Mustangs and it was about $350-$500 for a set of front seats. I just need to find who they were and maybe that might help you guys along. So litsnsirn, you got any progress shots of the car? You guys really put a lot of effort into them it would be interesting to see the build shots. |
