The original CL ad has expired, but here's the content with owner's contact info -

![]() ![]() Note the CHP hole in the front bumper. If anybody remembers the pictures that Andy posted of #8397 before being restored, the above car looks alot like the paint job that #8397 had as well. Rich (CHP8336 on ORG) went and looked at the car, and said that the driver's 1/4 panel needs to be replaced, although it is still very savable. The original Assignment Card for #E408419 was found, and a FAX copy was sent to me (the original card is being mailed). The card says the car was repainted Silver, so the damage that Rich commented on may have happened while the car was in-service. The FAX copy I rec'd is very dark and hard to read. But the gentleman who FAX'd it told me in our follow up call that it was listed as a "B&W". Just wanted to pass this along in case somebody here might be interested in the car. It sounds like the owner was negotiable on the asking price, although I don't know for sure if he sold it or not. It's too complete to part out or race up.

This is such a cool car, wish I had the extra money, I'd put it aside in some dry storage for a resto later on. It sure is tough to find these cars that aren't modded out or beat up anymore.

That's true. I was really hoping that the Assignment Card would come back with verification that the car had been an SMPV, but it served as a regular B&W in El Centro (Border Division, CHP Office #625), located in Imperial, CA.
