Default New Guy From CO

Hi All,

I'm in the process of getting what I think is a 1992 UHP SSP. I'll actually see the car tomorrow or Saturday and am excited to learn about it's history. In it's current condition it has no motor in it and it sports a GT ground effects. I'll be doing a restomod job on it.

Welcome to the forum! Good luck on that 1992 UHP. If you can, please snap some pictures of the VIN label and buck tags for our VIN Project. I hope the car is worth saving.

Welcome!

Just to warn you, most of the members here are more about preserving the history and keeping the cars original, or very close to original.

Still post up some pictures and look around on the site. You will definitely learn more about the car and how special SSPs are.

I do understand about preserving the history of the SSP hence why it will still resemble an SSP, just from a different department. There are some beautiful examples on this site of restored SSP's and I do respect very much what some of the guys have done with these cars. I do belive once I'm done you guys will like the car.

I don't think we need to engage in a big debate since this is the welcome section. Personally, I think a restomod can still be considered a "save" as long as the modifications are not too extreme. "Stock" is preferred of course, but it is OK for an owner to bring back a SSP from the edge of being lost forever, even if it ends up being modified slightly when they are finished.

Just my 2 cents...

Every modification will be able to be reverted back to stock if one wanted. The cars future before I got it would have most likley been a drag car. I will be sure to add all of the info to the vin project as my cars vin is on the list.
