It was very moving to be working today and see all the citizens showing up bringing food, cards and other gifts just to let us know they are thankfull for what we do. I spent an hour today talking with a woman who lost her daughter in the collapse of WTC T1. I cannot fathom how hard that has to be to live with every day. It makes a person realize just how blessed they really are.
But more importantly we need to remember the ones that were lost 10 years ago, and the ones lost protecting our great country since. We can never forget the sacrifice they made, and the impact on so many families across the country. As sad as this day is, it made me feel very proud to be an American, and a public servant. I just felt the need to share that with you.... be safe everyone !
