Little embellishments like trim rings and pinstriping did show up on some, mostly PIO (public information officer), in-service units. This was especially true of the early cars when they were still quite the novelty, much less so on the later models.

Speaking of embellishments, I caught a dusey of one at a CHP event yesterday - simulated twin 50 cal. machine gun barrels protruding from the massive front winch bumper of a Dodge Ram MRE (commercial enforcement) unit!

Thanks! Looks like my dads 90 will get the dual rack

It is very possible that my car was a PIO car, or that it went to another agency (like the 91 camaro), as it went to a private owner in 98 (from what I can gather).

Default Lots-O-Work done

Did a lot of work on Casper this afternoon. Stripped the interior, removed bumpers, taillights, fenders, mouldings and trim. Gonna try and start body work tomorrow. Everything appears to be very straight with no rust to be found on the body. There are just a couple surface rust spots though.

No Rust!!

Thanks!

More work was done today
The paint materials/prep work was done so cheaply, that the paint was coming off with a putty knife and razor blade

Repainted the int. mirror covers.
Before

After

Restored one of the 5.0 emblems(bottom one). The other will come later.

Not the correct plate, but it is a CHP plate

The "fog" happened in the afternoon. One of my dads crown vics had been in a roll over while inservice. My dad changed the engine and swapped different components to the new engine, one of which was the intake. The intake plenum was full of oil, so when the car started, smoke billowed out of the pipes.

I also got all but one of the door moulding off. I used a putty knife and a sledge hammer

Just so you can see how the "fog" happened

The "fog" is all the way out to the farthest white roof (center, just right a tad)

Time for a couple vids
Is it normal for my car to be nearly silent at the tips? There is just a faint sound of exhaust tone. The noise in the video is from the engine compartment (motor itself is loud). I also got to "drive" it for the first time. It was only 30ft but it was fun
