That's a clean looking little coupe! Not what you expect to see on CL after all this time.

Thumbs up

This is a very clean retired CHP Mustang. I seen this one in person along with a second Forest Green (one day paint) 1993 SSP CHP Mustang that was also for sale. The owner (Josh) was selling both of these Mustangs earlier this year. If I had the money at the time I would have bought which was around 7 hundred bucks more than this white one. The usual CHP identifers are present on the car and I actually pointed out the two existing snare clip holes on the insde trunk lid to the seller.
One thing I am baffeled about this car and the one I bought from Josh is what purpose is the small hole on the top left front of the shifter bezel for? My car has also this same size hole too.

My old 92 had the same hole. In mine, a small red LED was installed (like what you would see in an aftermarket alarm system (although it had no alarm on it). Who knows?

That hole was made from a screw, the screw held the clip for the note pad on the 1992's and 1993's.
You can see it in this photo of my car's interior.

Default ooops

OK so I forgot to attach the photo LOL Here it is.

This pisses me off. It won't upload again.
I'll get a photo for you.
Too early on a MONDAY to start this kind of stuff................

C O M P U T E R S........... I hate em !

I'll post a picture today sometime.

Anyway, the notepad used to be mounted on a plate which attached to the cross brace ( to the dash pod ) on the gun rack. the plate had a clip attached at the top of it which held a note pad. Usually the same plate, where attached at the gun rack, had the map light attached to the top of it where it attached to the gun rack.

Hope all of that made sense lol

When the new radio system came out, ( GE Ranger,) the radio head sat in the same place that the note pad plate sat. So they moved the note pad.
They attached the large CLIP only at the base of the shifter console.

My 1992 had the same holes. I re-attched the clip there and put a note pad back in place.
I have 2 different pics of this. My car and the 1992 at the academy museum.
But both will not load. It says it is too large. I will try to get a pic posted today.

Sorry. Hope that helps. Send me your email, I'll send a pic that way as well.
John

Now it makes sense, Thanks for the photos John and Thanks 28HopUp for uploading these. Looks like I am going to have to dig around in the shop for that clip. I did come across this clip on some old Motor Transport photos that shows this clip on the Mustangs before these were Decomissioned/ Auctioned.
