Welcome to the forum...a good back story.

A couple out there that have been returned to in-service specs, including one in process now. Use the forum search feature and should be able to find w/out too much difficulty.

Default Small update

I was able to get it out of the garage finally and drive her around a bit. I did have to buy a new battery after sitting for three plus years. I also put some 16" pony wheels on with new tires so I can get the 10 holes redone. It has been running and driving good and I'm on my second tank of fresh gas now, with one small hiccup. She left me stranded at work last night, I turned the key and the fuel pump primed as normal but I only got a click. Just one single click, tried jumping it with no luck but was able to get it push started and made it home. Looks like now I need to go over my connections and start checking the solenoid and starter. Not a huge deal just an inconvenience, good thing the guys at work were there to give me a push.

Quick update, I found a bad wire that runs from the solenoid to the starter. It looks like it had rubbed the harmonic balancer in the past and was "repaired" with a few wraps of electrical tape. Under the tape it was corroded pretty good so I cut it out and spliced a new chunk of 12 gauge wire in with a couple layers of heat shrink. Fired right up after that so hopefully it's good to go now.

Just saw this thread. I was going to suggest checking that very cable. Had the same problem on my FHP. Was cranking perfect and then out of nowhere, nothing.

Sounds like a great project with an awesome back story. You're the first owner from auction and still have it. Most of us wish we could say that about ours!

We need pics of your NSP!!
