If it is the only car you have paint it one color and do the rest of the resto to the point where equipment can be removed easily and put back to look stock. I believe CHP had an all blue with black letters type car that was used for only traffic enforcement. Check with the CHP guys here. Maybe you can go that route and just place the letters on magnets when at a show.
