I removed the grille emblem on the 89 SSP today (original was weathered and cracked) without removing the bumper cover. A 10mm deep well socket with extension, along with a lot of hand contortion and patience got the job done. Maybe I'll just glue the replacement emblem on when I get it (anybody else glue their's on?).

Maybe I'd resist the temptation to just glue it on in case the front cover ever needs to be repaired or replaced in the future.
Reminds me of this photo from the days when my car was in the body shop, what a breeze to attach everything to the cover then bolt it back on the car as an assemnly: ![]() |
