I got your fax...and I'll pass along Matt's info to him. My car wasn't in the fax (the last page didn't come through).

I think we could probably get him to send all of them to one person, and then distribute them out from there.

I nominate Mike to get these cards for us! Hell I'll even donate a few $$$ to him for the site for that if you can get the guy to part with the cards!

Matt

Well at least I can confirm my plate/tag numer now! E408302

Woo hoo... The rest of the card is really dark. I wonder if the guy knows they were that dark when he sent them?

Does the 40 in the tag indicate what office it was issues to?

No...but there's a location code on the lower right hand corner that probably means something good.

Yours is cut off on the bottom on the fax I have...can't see what color they painted it, or the location code. 85,608 miles at the time of the sale, though.

I agree. I would sure kick in some funds also. If anyone is going to try to get some more cards I would like to see if they have one for my 86 CHP #E413705. Thanks, Doug

Rob (ANDY):

I got your PM and will fax you what I have on your car.

Everyone:

I kicked it around with Mike (ImEvil1) and we came to the agreement that I will call and ask for the original assignment cards since I have allready talked to the guy . I would get them sent to one member and that member would mail them out to the car owners. We also agreed that we should compensate the guy for his time by maybe kicking in ( all of the persons getting their cards) and buy a gift card to the restaraunt of his choice. He seems like a good guy and helped me out without question so far but I dont think he unsderstands or really cares that we are restoring these cars. Nothing against him, like I said he has been great so far. Im sure he deals with a ton of CHP cars and to him the Mustangs are just another CHP car among many he has to deal with.
Does everyone agree to this? If so I will email him a request for our assignment cards. I think I should wait a couple of days to give everyone a chance to post up if they want to be a part of this. I probably acted to fast last time and I left a few key people out at first including Jim Young and the site owner Mike, which was not considerate on my end. I dont want this to happen this time around.

Chris

Sounds good to me. Let's hope he is AOK with it and we can all get those originals. Maybe a $5 contribution from each of us for the card for his time and trouble (something that we wouldn't tell him about until after the fact)?
