Believe it or not, it was more or less right in your backyard for quite a while. It sat at Universal Chevrolet in Cleveland, GA (along with the '84 Milpitas, CA PD SSP) waiting for a new owner. Both '84's were restored by Kevin and Matt of "In-Pursuit" in CA and both were beautifully and correctly done. The CHP car was puchased from the original owner who bought it at auction and still had the CHP repaint on it:

Please note that when Kevin sold this car, he advertised that the odometer had turned over - now it has magically gone back.

I hope it finds another deserving home...I'd buy it in a second if I had a place to put it!

Thanks for posting those. Anyone know where the Milipitas car is now?

Good question, it would be nice to see that car resurface again. Anyone here spotted or heard about this one lately?

Looks like it sold for $10,500. Interesting the sellers NCSHP Mustang did not receive one bid...

Unless you're a body/paint guy, it would be very difficult to restore an SSP for that price. I'm getting close to spending that much on my CHP, and I've got a ways to go before it's "done". Good thing I'm re-doing the car for me and not trying to flip it for profit.

Agree, that's a fine price for a turnkey SSP restoration as nice as this one. The auction only attracted one bidder who found the reserve after 2 bids. I sincerely hope they surface into our hobby and start showing this sweet four-eye.
