A guy on FB picked up 3 Utah SSP Mustangs recently - an 86 and two 88s (same VIN batch and same DSO number). The 86 was already in the Project (GF208343), but I added the 88s just now since their DSO number matched other confirmed Utah cars -

That's three (so far) different interior trim color for the same DSO.

JF275815 = FD
JF275816 = FD
JF275824 = FD
JF275834 = FG
JF275839 = FY

That's cool! I forget exactly, so hopefully someone here will chime in, but I think the lightening bolt was for drunk driver arrests or something similar to that.

You may be right, Mike.

I wanted to give a "THANK YOU" to Mike aka Notch50, who tipped me off about a set of 1990 Utah Buck Tags for sale on ebay -

http://www.ebay.com/itm/121704514463

There are two other Utah cars from that DSO, so I went ahead and added this one (with a notation about the tags being sold separate from the SSP) -

http://www.specialservicemustang.net...info200905.htm

Here's a quote form the ebay listing -

Quote:
Ford Mustang SSP Special Service Package Buck Tags

removed from 1990 SSP Utah Highway Patrol Mustang

Buck Tags could be used when building a SSP clone

includes 2 of the 3 original staples

I remember when folks called a car like that the proper name for it - a FAKE! Sadly, cloning has become acceptable these days...

Default Bucktags

Not sure why people pull them off at all unless car is junked. 😨

That is most likely the situation. I guess there's a small chance that the owner took the tags off and misplaced them, sold the car, and later found them. Like I said, there's just a small chance of that. More than likely the seller stumbled across the car in a junkyard and took them off in order to make a few bucks by selling them online.

Now that the car has made it's way down from Canada, here is a better scan.

HF170651 does not have any records for any body/engine combo, that is why it is not in the VIN Project now.

Jonathon, THANK YOU for sending the scan. I changed the existing pages to the better image, and added the newly confirmed SSPs (HF170643, HF170644, and HF170645) to the VIN Project. Here is the first one -
