In CA it is, not sure about other states. I would assume it may be.
CA you can not have any vehicle painted to resemble a law enforcement vehicle. The GEEK Squad, computer geeks that respond to your home to repair your computer, their vehicles are black with white roof and doors. CHP made them paint the doors black. Check with your local LE agency. I'd check with your State police, or Hwy Patrol. A lot of PD's, Sheriff etc., are not current on those type of laws. Better safe then sorry. If you act dumb when stopped, that is exactly how the officer will treat you LOL 100 - 1 their responce to you will be, " well you should have checked before you went driving around like this "
