Default Cruisin Michigan Ave. Emerg Vehicle Show

Attended the 3rd Annual Cruisin Michigan Avenue Emergency Vehicle show today. This is the first time I've participated at this one and took the 92 MSP SSP Mustang there. It's a by product, of sorts, of the Cruisin Michigan Avenue event that is something like a more modest version of the Woodward Dream Cruise. This event was hosted at the Deaborn Heights PD & Justice Center facility. Unfortunately my camera's charge gave out after just a few pictures today so wasn't able to take many. The show had a number of Fire vehicles, ambulances, in-service and collector police vehicles.

Afterwards the Inkster PD (with some help from the Dearborn Heights PD) conducted and escorted a sanctioned lights and siren cruise for all the participating vehicles heading west on Michigan Avenue through the edge of Dearborn Heights, the Inkster stretch also a portion of the Wayne stretch. As with the overall event, our cruise had lots of spectors along the route and all seemed to enjoy it. Very professionally run show and the Inkster PD used their Harley Davidson motorcycles to show down various intersection and supplement the PD vehicles handling the cruise. I was surpised how long far the PD took us on the cruise, but in doing so they were able to take us through some of the most populated spectator areas along Michigan Avenue.

Only got one pic of my car before the camera battery died. Fortunately I was able to get a few pics of the Dearborn PD's in-service 2002 Mustang GT. It has 49,000 miles on it and is assigned to one of their investigators who participated with his vehicle in the show and lights/siren cruise. Apparently FOMOCO donated the vehicle to them when it was new along with an Escape (I believe the officer said)....the Escape got totaled so it's gone now.

Sorry I don't have more pics to show...that will teach me to keep the camera on the charger between uses. Will see most of these folks again at the Ferndale Emergency Vehicle Show & Cruise in August that essentially kicks off the weekend activities of the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Those doggone batteries will get you! I remember that Mustang but it does not come out much from what I've seen while in Dearborn over the last three years. Your car looked great there from the shot posted.

I forgot about this show but remembered Ferndale next month go figure.

Looked to be a cool time. I really like the Dearborn car, it's a virtual twin to my old 2001 GT right down to the black interior and auto:

Thanks for post up the pictures Mike! It sounds like you had a really good time. My problem at shows/events is I forget to take pictures.
