update
Got the fin number finally and you guys were right the title he had and the car were two different things. He assured me that it was clean so I called the police dispatch and sure enough it was good. Hopefully it doesnt have a lien.
1fabp26m8gf257558 is the vin number and its a 86 ssp. Guy was so confused I got a bill of sale and I will apply for the title or track it down. Car runs killer drove it home the 70 miles and it ran perfect. I took alot of pictures and got a copy of the guys drivers licensce and registration. Its kinda a pain registering it without so I am hoping for the best. If someone can carfax this one I so would appreciate. I swear the vin on the title and this one are completely diffrent good thing the guy didnt get in a accident. This club is the best. I have always wanted a 86 ssp utah car. I plan on keeping this as original as possible. On a side note 295 rear tires on the stock rims. Yeah can you say tire rub. Any input or insight is greatly appreciated. Matt |

Glad the vin in the dash hadn't been changed. I hope everything works out with the title. The first thing I would do is change those taillights.

I agree. If you can get the title issue fixed, then you will have scored a running SSP project for very little scratch!

Thanks so much for your guidance and direction on this board it was a team effort that I got such a killer deal. Took some picks of the bucktags and it is a utah ssp 1986 and the partial vin is on the bucktags that matches the vin on the dash thank goodness.
I believe its all original including motor and transmission. If anyone has a 86 that they could snap a pictures of the motor compartment i believe its all original down to the plastic thing on the intake manifold. Which lights do you recommend when you say change out the lights? Oh and he even gave me a 85 spare that is the original spare rim. Thanks again. Matt |

Great score!
You would have been a fool to pass on this one. In regards to the tailights, ditch the vatozone light covers and get some stock ones. The front fogs are aweful too.

Yeah the stock taillights are in the trunk and all the other lights are coming off of it. I am trying to put it back to original as possible. The taillights look horrible.
Probably will end up putting newer spotlights on it because the old ones were left out in a mud puddle for a couple months and are rusted. This one will be all stock and all original. Thanks Matt |
