Default 1982 CHP Unit 0448 revealed

Unit number 0448 was finally revealed from driver door under the white paint. Thanks to previous posting from Sam "Mustang Kid, I was able to make this happen by using tape to lift the paint that was over the numbers. Still a little work to get the rest of the paint away from the Unit numbers. Seeing the balck paint with the unit numbers makes me wonder if only the outside skin of these doors was white and the rest black? Well any way Thanks Sam for the helpfull tip...

Glad I could help
I believe that the 82's had black jams and white unit #'s.

With my car, to make it that much more "correct" and original, I will finish taking the tiny slivers of the repaint off around the unit #. then will tape a rectangle around the #s to protect them from the sand paper. Also, when I paint the jam, the unit # will be taped off, and before the clear coat, I will remove the tape and lightly wet sand the paint edge smooth. That way when the clear coat is applied, I will have the original unit # and it will look like the jam hasn't been painted

It's a good thing to try for all of you with a repainted, unrestored CHP car

Post pics SSPCHPSTANG3101! (I don't know your real name lol )
