very nice Jim!
I don't know if you remember my conversation with the Idaho State Police back when i got you the coloring book http://i13.tinypic.com/4xndhte.jpg but they (The ISP) had a display of their older ISP vehicles and including a Camaro and when i mentioned the SSP Mustangs one of the museum representative in charge of the car display said you know....we goofed up by not keeping one of those Mustangs! glad to see the car came home..... |

Congrats !!
When I stop at he academy I'll ask about it. They have a lot of CHP vehicles in a warehouse behind the EVOC and range office. Next to the range. 82 Camaro is in there also. I'll get what ever info I can for you. That's great !

more information
Talked with him again today and I also corrected my original post to reflect some things. Mike the car will be at Ripon and the museum the car is going into is the new CHP museum being built in Sacramento at the CHP Academy. This is all being done with private, donated funds also, not taxpayers money.

I've made the trip to Ripon and it's a nice journey with unbelievable cars showing up from private collections as well as departments. Don't have to retire to go you know!

The '92 Mustang they saved isn't so typical with the Vision LB and special door markings. I'm really hoping I live long enough to see the new musuem built..... |

The plate number on the Merc seems spurious and too new, doesn't it. Mine was E810193.

It is a donated private restoration from a few years ago...may not have come with a correct series plate.
