well i finally got some time to take pictures of cars im selling. this is one of them. i bought the car because it is what i was looking for. i overpaid for this car BUT it was what i wanted to restore so i was ok with the price of purchase. before i could start to get it running i stumbled acrros another 84 chp in running condition and in better condition. so i went to buy that one and so now i am selling my first one. i paid 2500 and im only asking 1800 for it. taking a big loss, just want it gone for space and some money to put into the other one

about the car:

1984 mustang 5.0 5 speed SSP

one of 250 ordered by the California Highway Patrol

san jose district

i have both bucktags

85-86 SSP wheels NOT included with car. it will come with ten holes

motor needs fuel lines hooked up to the carburetor

motor cranks over with a battery hooked up to it. motor will run with fuel

car needs a driverside door or fix the one it has(which is the original door with unit # on it)

interior is complete even though the original one has been swapped out for grey interior.

certified calibration speedometer in car with 66,xxx miles. not sure if thats original

car is very solid. floors and trunk.

needs driverside quarter window

original spotlight and antenna spots are visible

i have original california blue plate

i bought the car with a bill of sale only. i went to AAA to register it. they told me it was not in the system anymore and that i had to take it there for them to visually inspect the car to assign it a pink slip. i will sell it with a bill of sale and the buyer will not have any problems registering it and getting a duplicate title. i dont know how it works in other states. in arizona you will only need a bill of sale, i know this because i sold my first 5.0 to a guy in AZ and thats what he told me and thats all i gave him. if i get some time and a trailer i might be able to get a pink slip for it. but im not trying to go through all that because my only day off is sunday.

i can show the car weekdays and sat after work at 630 and sunday all day.

my phone number is 310 874 6879

Adrian

here is a link to all the photos i took of it

The VIN is within a batch of 136 consecutive P26M VINs (203908-204043).

Dang 5 minute edit limit...

Per the Buck Tag codes, the original interior color was Desert Tan (H). Also A/C, defrost, and T-5.

Cool, I lived in the Santa Clara Valley when this car was in service and may have seen it in person once upon a time. The '84s are one of my favorite four-eyed SSPs as I used to own a similar vintage T-5 equipped Milpitas PD unit. I hope the new owner will fix and not replace the drivers door to preserve the originality and provenence of this car. There's only one restored '84 CHP out there that I'm aware of and it has been underground for a while:

In-service unit with added pinstriping and plate frames, probably a PIO's ride:
