Mike,

"I", as the person who bought my '93 FHP car directly from the state, with ALL service records from not only the State of Florida, but from the Ford dealer that serviced my car from "new", can verify that the original engine is in my car. I know that's not the case with most of these cars, but that's not the point of this discussion.

Back on topic...it's unethical and possibly illegal for people to restamp VINs. We can't stop people from doing it, but we can and will stop people from promoting it on this board.

Even the purists would not know!

Good Luck!

Chris,

Barry seems like a nice guy...just maybe a little misguided with that statement.

Lets not get too personal with this.

Moving this thread back on track concerning rebuild or reman. Yes, I know I also helped get the thread off focus!

Let me know if anyone does get an engine from Groom's Engines for their SSP. I would be interested to see if you are as pleased with their work as I have been!

I live in Nashville and would be happy to help anyone if they need assistance.

The seller was out of Apopka which is just north of Orlando. His listing said it was rebuilt and shipping only. I sent him an e-mail asking if I could pick it up and if it had any miles on it since the rebuild as it did not specify. He responded back with "shipping only". I thought it to be strange as well as the fact he didn't answer my question about the miles.

5 minuts left and it's at $160 which I thought was a steal. I figured I would at least try 1 more time and explain I was just down the road in Orlando. I said "I would like to bid on it but can't see paying shipping because I'm in Orlando". I also asked again about the miles. He quickly responded back with "DONT BID!". Needless to say, I don't think he wanted somone coming back and knocking on his door after it crapped out after 100 miles. It went for $250 and I almost feel sorry for the poor sap.

venom1172 is his e-bay name as well as his hotmail e-mail he responded back from which is labeled with the name Hermine Lutz. He has a decent seller rating but why make an issue out of shipping if you have nothing to hide. Hell, if I lived on the same street as him, is he going to call UPS to have it hauled 3 doors down?

Wow. What a topic of conversation. Personally guys I respect whatever decision you make in restoring or modifying your SSP vehicles. I make no personal judgments on postings and was merely offering a possible solution to the situation presented.
