88 - 92 maybe the 93's had them.
I remember them back for many years I went on the patrol in 83, seems they were in the 86's.... I know for sure the late 80's on.
My 92 I have had one in it. Not sure if it was that color or the dark gray cover like Mike's, but it had one of those scanners in it.

I purchased one just like this one from eBay and it works great.
Installed it in my 92 mustang. I paid $19.00 plus shipping.

I made a bracket for it. Real close to the CHP's bracket. its just right in my car.
Depends on the year of car yours is, you can see the screw holes where it was mounted.
Mine was mounted on the right side of the center console next to the gear shift.
Older cars were mounted inside or near the am-fm radio slot, or just off to the right side of that, flat on top of the console.
Look for screw holes. Look at old pictures, you'll see the different installs.

Default also....

I downloaded the entire installation and operation manual for this scanner from online.

Wire it to the car whip antenna. It works great.
Just some info if it helps.

Thanks John! Very useful info! I have a 1985 CHP that I have pics posted of under member SSP's. I might just buy this for my restoration, although I want to be correct in the equipment I purchase. Thanks again!

You can always resell it. Someone will be needing one soon.

Probably the most common scanner in the Mustangs. I have an original CHP M100 Scanner. IIRC, it had an '85 inspection sticker on it, or something with '85.

Works, I'd buy it.

LOL I only paid $19.99 plus shipping last year for one.
It doesn't look like it is THAT good of condititon to me. Mine was in great shape and had everything with it. Except owner's manual, and I downloaded that from the internet.

Someone wants it pretty bad.
