1990 Colorado unit 237
With my permission letter from the Colonel came an authorization to buy these from the original supplier. They came today.

Those will certainly add to the quality of your restoration.

the car is an original paint car still. I sure wish I had the original hood for the car but it was missing when I got the car. these decals look spot on from what I can tell from the in service pictures we have

Those look nice.
Is the large STATE PATROL decal just the letters or are they on a white, rectangular background?

I think it's pretty cool that you have a letter from the Colonel granting you permission. It's hard to believe any agency is supportive now a days.
Frisco Police knows I'm going to restore the Mustang, and have sent me what info they have, but I would think state agencies would be more paranoid. |

CSP has been great to deal with on the car. They really like to see enthusiasts restoring pieces of their history. With the letter came a whole bunch of rules though, including display of recruitment posters at car shows etc.
Mike the large state trooper decal is letters only. They are a real pretty blue color also. I know the early cars had the goofy looking white underlayment but they stopped doing that eventually. The trunk decal I got is an original one he had laying on the shelf. He told me if I have any trouble with it he will make me another one.

Emblems will look sharp on there, Jim! As we've read here over the past year or two Colorado has been supportive. Other examples out there as well. I started a thread here (earlier this year I think) asking folks to share input on their experiences. The Missouri State Highway Patrol is great as well and very supportive with those of us preserving these pieces of their history. The current and prior Colonel/Superintendent has provided me with permission letters and approval to procure emblems from their supplier. They are really great to work with. The Trooper assigned to my 93 MSHP SSP was promoted to Captain last year.
